Taipei will be hosting the 3rd International Symposium on Muslim Minorities and Contemporary Challenges next Monday. The 2-day event is jointly organized by the foreign ministry and the World Muslim League.
Foreign ministry official Wang Chien-yeh said that prominent religious leaders and scholars from countries including Saudi Arabia, India, the United States, and New Zealand will attend. The symposium will cover topics on Muslim integration, education, rights and cultural diversity. Taiwan also held the symposium in 2004 and 2011.
The World Muslim League is a non-governmental organization set up by the Saudi Arabian government to assist in the spread of the Islamic religion. The organization serves 1.6 billion Muslims around the world.
