The 10th Cross-Strait Economic, Trade and Culture Forum is scheduled to be held on May 3rd in Shanghai. That’s the word from the ruling KMT party on Friday.

The forum is an annual meeting between Taiwan’s ruling KMT and the Communist Party of China.

The KMT caucus has said that KMT Chairman Eric Chu is likely to attend the forum and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. But details of the meeting and who will be part of the delegation are still not available. KMT spokesperson Yang Wei-chung says that this year’s forum will cover topics such as small and medium sized enterprises, youth and grassroots exchanges, trade and technology, and culture and education.

The forum was established in 2006 and aims to deepen cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, pool consensus, and promote peaceful development.
