The Taiwan Power Company says it will issue a review on transformers in all its three nuclear power plants.
The comments came on Tuesday following a recent incident. This past Sunday one of the two reactors at Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 was shut down after a fire broke out in an auxiliary electrical transformer. There have been four fire incidents at the same power plant, and all of them were caused by faulty auxiliary electrical transformers.
The Taiwan Power Company said it will take two weeks to repair the reactor, but it also said this will not lead to power shortages.
Taiwan has three operational nuclear power plants. The fourth one has been mothballed because of widespread public protests against it.
