Hollywood director Martin Scorsese has finished up filming on his new film starring Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Leonardo DiCaprio. In a press conference on Monday, Scorsese said that he was really impressed with Taiwan, where the film was shot.
Scorsese and his team have been shooting the film—Silence—in various locations around the island for the past few months. The entire film was shot in Taiwan and many of the crew members were Taiwanese.
Scorsese said he was really impressed with the beautiful scenery, the food, and the people of Taiwan. The director said he’s particularly fond of Taiwan’s xialongbao, a bite-sized steamed pork bun containing soup.
Scorsese’s new film is the first major Hollywood production shot in Taiwan since Luc Besson's action thriller Lucy.
