Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) says it will help Nepal with post-quake reconstruction.
The fund is sponsored by the foreign ministry; it said on Monday that it will work with a Geneva-based NGO to offer assistance.
ICDF Deputy Secretary-General Lee Pai-po explains.
“We will work with Care International, an NGO, to do post-quake reconstruction, including work in the areas of food safety, environmental hygiene, and other sanitation issues," said Lee.
Nepal was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25th, leaving more than 8,000 dead and 16,000 injured.
Taiwan has donated US$300,000 and sent rescue and relief missions to the South Asian country following the quake.
