Led by Apple-concept stocks, shares in Taiwan opened higher on Friday and sustained their momentum for much of the morning before a slide in the early afternoon limited their gains at the close.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 60.24 points, or 0.62%, at 9,638.80.
