Shakespeare’s Globe theatre will soon visit Taiwan again to perform Hamlet as part of an international program to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare.
According to the UK representative to Taiwan, Chris Wood, a series of activities celebrating Shakespeare’s anniversary are taking place around the world until 2016. The activities are led by the British Council and supported by the UK’s Foreign Office and VisitBritain.
As part of the activities, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre will visit Taiwan in July to perform Hamlet, as part of their “Globe to Globe Hamlet” project. The performance troupe tours every country and territory in the world during two years starting in 2014.
