The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) and Taiwan’s foreign trade council TAITRA are working to help Taiwanese firms expand into India and Indonesia.

The push comes amid a slump in Taiwanese exports. An IDB statement on Friday says that India and Indonesia have become more welcoming to foreign firms since the two countries elected new heads of state.

According to the statement, a number of Taiwanese communications firms, rubber companies, and shoe manufacturers are getting ready to invest in the two countries.

Meanwhile, TAITRA has begun holding a series of more than 60 seminars on ways of expanding into the Indian and Indonesian markets.
