One of the world’s best-known jazz club, Blue Note, has plans to expand its presence to Taiwan and China.
Blue Note, based in New York’s Greenwich Village, announced on Thursday that it would open a Blue Note Beijing in the Chinese capital in March next year. It also said it will expand its presence to Shanghai and the Taiwanese capital of Taipei within three years.
In addition to opening a club in Beijing, Blue Note will also open next year in Honolulu, Hawaii, which is a popular destination for Asian tourists.
Many Western pop musicians and classical orchestras are looking to tap into the Chinese market. Blue Note is also hoping to expand its footprint in China’s vast market.
