Renowned American singer and record producer Randy Jackson is in Taiwan to attend this year’s Golden Melody Awards and Festival.
The festival is scheduled to be held at the Taipei Arena Saturday.
Jackson has worked with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Madonna. He is best known for being a judge on American Idol.
Jackson said on Friday that he is planning to introduce Asian singers to the audience in the West and that Taiwan would be a good start as the island has many talented musicians like Jay Chou, Leehom Wang and rock band Mayday.
Jackson also said he is hoping to create an international market and find a world-class superstar through cooperation with Taiwan’s entertainment industry.
To succeed in the music industry, Jackson said artists must have talent, originality and are open to learn new things. He said finding the right songs that touch people is also of vital importance.
