Officials from Taiwan and China are holding discussions in Taipei on the technical aspects of a cross-strait trade in goods agreement.

The meeting on Thursday is to exchange views and narrow differences on issues including market access for industrial products, technical barriers to trade, and other non-tariff trade barriers. The meeting precedes an 11th round of formal talks on the agreement. The last round was held in Beijing in April.

The Taiwan delegation is made up of over 20 officials, including representatives from the health ministry, agriculture ministry and the Straits Exchange Foundation. The Chinese delegation is composed of officials from the Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
