Former Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin has announced that he will run for a seat in the legislature in next year’s general elections.
In a statement Friday, Hau announced that he intends to run as a KMT candidate for a seat representing the port city of Keelung.
Hau’s announcement comes as the KMT finishes its nomination process. The party has yet to approve candidates in 17 legislative districts. KMT Chairman Eric Chu says that the party’s Central Standing Committee will formally announce Hau’s candidacy after final discussions next week.
