Taiwan’s top China policymaker, Mainland Affairs Council Minister Andrew Hsia, is scheduled to visit the United States from July 11-19.    It will be Hsia's first trip to the US since he took office as council minister in February.

During his visit to Washington DC, Hsia will meet with US government officials, members of the Congress, and think tank scholars. He will talk about Taiwan’s policy towards China and the development of cross-strait relations.

On Monday, Hsia is set to deliver a keynote speech at a symposium organized by Washington-based think tank the Brookings Institution. During the symposium, Hsia and renowned experts from Taiwan, the US, and China will discuss recent events in cross-strait relations and examine current political and economic conditions in China.
