EVA Air finalizes order for 5 Boeing 777 cargo planes
Sealing the Deal
Taipei-based EVA Air has finalized an order for five Boeing 777 cargo jets, the first of their kind to
enter the carrier’s cargo fleet.

EVA Air announced the purchase in a contract-signing ceremony with Boeing on Tuesday. The deal is valued at more than US$1.5 billion. The airline is set to start taking delivery of the aircraft from
October 2017.

EVA Air President Austin Cheng said the company is pleased to be the first Taiwanese carrier to
introduce Boeing 777 freighters. These aircraft will be the backbone of the company’s air cargo servicefor the next decade.

EVA Air says the Boeing 777 is more energy-efficient than the Boeing B747-400 freighter, using 25% less fuel.
