Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez is set to visit Taiwan Friday. That’s the word from foreign ministry official Jerry Yang on Thursday.
Yang said the Honduran head of state will brief Taiwan’s business sector on investment opportunities in his country during a luncheon on Friday.
Yang also said that trade volume between Taiwan and Honduras last year was only worth US$110 million, leaving a great potential for growth.
"If those in the business and industrial sectors in Taiwan and Honduras are able to find joint business opportunities, I think it will be a great help towards boosting trade volume between the two sides," Yang said.
Yang said because Honduras is a signatory to the Central American Free Trade Agreement, at least 1,600 Taiwanese products will be able to enjoy tariff free treatment.
