Taiwan’s employment outlook and household finances are at a record high this month. That’s the world from National Central University’s Research Center for Taiwan Economic Development on Monday.
July’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) was at 89.58. That’s one point less than last month. Analysts say the decline was due to the lackluster performance of the stock market and domestic economy.
But the Consumer Price Index is at its highest in ten and a half years. The center’s analyst Wu Ta-ren said that’s because the public has benefited from the fall in gas prices. There’s also a great employment outlook, despite the fresh graduates entering the job market. Wu said that even with the slight decrease of the CCI this month, the CCI should rise again this year.
