Students from Taiwan have won four medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The IOI is an international programming competition open to secondary school students. Taipei hosted last year’s competition.
The four Taiwanese participants were selected through multiple rounds of competition. Two of the students had participated in previous IOI events. The other two participants from Taiwan have experience competing at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
The four Taiwanese competitors took three gold, one silver, and one bronze medals at this year’s event, making them the most successful Taiwanese team at the event in four years.
