Taiwan has donated 40 computers to Guatemala to help digitize administrative work.
Taiwan’s ambassador to Guatemala, Adolfo Sun, and head of Guatemala’s National Office of Civil Service Patricia Margarita Garcia Futch hosted a ceremony on Thursday to mark the occasion.
Garcia thanked Taiwan for the computers. She said she hopes the civil service office will be able to use the computers to build a strategic partnership with the IT department at Guatemala’s finance ministry. Setting up a common internet platform for digital files will speed up the processing of applications and increase efficiency.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Adolfo Sun said that the donation of computers will help Guatemala build a more complete modernized personnel system. This will raise efficiency and help set up an inter-ministerial online government system.
