An Apache helicopter crashed on top of a residential building in Taoyuan on Friday morning during training. The pilot and co-pilot are in stable condition.
The army command headquarters said that they would halt all flight plans for apache helicopters and have them inspected. The military also said they would compensate for the damaged home.
Army command headquarters deputy director Wang Hsing-wei spoke about the crash on Friday. "The defense ministry has sent an ad-hoc group to our department to work with our aviation safety committee and US officials to investigate," Wang said. "The results of the investigation – whether [it was caused by] the weather, personnel or mechanical issues – will be announced as soon as possible."
The AH-64E Apache was made in the US and recently delivered to Taiwan.
