The Cabinet’s service center for foreign investors has added the recruitment of foreign talent to its list of goals.
This will centralize efforts to attract foreign professionals to Taiwan, replacing the individual initiatives of various government agencies.
At a renaming ceremony for the center held on Friday, Economics Minister John Deng said that while Taiwan is able to produce capable workers, it still has need of foreign talent. Deng said that the newly renamed center will help foreign professionals resolve problems they may have while living and working in Taiwan.
At the ceremony, head of the National Development Council Woody Duh touted the benefits of working in Taiwan, citing a safe environment and inclusion of foreign workers in Taiwan’s healthcare system after four months in the country.
