Strong winds and heavy rain brought by Typhoon Soudelor have left six dead, four missing and more than 100 injured. That’s according to the government’s disaster contingency center.
More than 3.3 million households have been left without electricity and about 66,000 are without water. The government has already evacuated 7,500 people from their homes.
Typhoon Souderlor made landfall on the eastern coast early Saturday morning.
Of the six dead, two were swept out to sea, one was killed by a falling tree, one died in car accident and the other was struck by a falling billboard.
The Central Weather Bureau says Typhoon Soudelor will make landfall in China’s Fujian province around midnight.
