The Central Weather Bureau is warning of heavy afternoon downpours over the coming days. The bureau is calling for especially heavy rainfall in Taiwan’s northern mountains, with the possibility of downpours in other mountainous parts of the country as well. The bureau has advised travelers to watch for flooding rivers and rockslides.
Meanwhile, the bureau also announced Friday that there is a possibility that two tropical depressions in the Pacific could become the season’s 15th and 16th typhoons. A bureau forecaster says that the bureau will need to continue observing the tropical depressions before predicting their path, strength and impact on Taiwan.
