Top negotiators of Taiwan and China will hold their 11th round of talks in the southern Chinese city of Fuzhou next week.
The meeting will be between the heads of Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation and China’s Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits. The two semi-official organizations are in charge of cross-strait interactions in the absence of formal relations between the two sides.
During the two-day meeting that will start on Aug. 24, the two sides are expected to sign agreements on taxation and aviation safety. The taxation agreement will prevent double taxation and increase cooperation in the field of taxation. The aviation safety agreement will allow airlines to commission aircraft maintenance companies from the other side to carry out safety checks or maintenance work.
