Taiwanese duo Chan Yung-jan and Chan Hao-ching have won the final match of the women’s doubles tournament at the Western and Southern Open.
The two sisters defeated Casey Dellacque of Australia and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday. The title comes with a purse of US$2.7 million.
After the final match, Chan Yung-jan thanked friends and supporters for helping her win the title on the same week as her 26th birthday. She also said she is looking forward to the US Open and hopes her drive and confidence will continue through. The US Open begins next week.
