Governor of Taiwan’s Central Bank Perng Fai-nan was named a top tier central banker in the world for the 12th time by Global Finance magazine on Monday. Perng is one of nine best central bankers in the world for the year 2015.
It was the 12th time that 76-year old Perng has received an “A” grade during his time as governor of the Central Bank. He received his first “A” in 2000.
Other leaders given an “A” were heads of central banks in the European Union, Czech Republic, Iraq, Paraguay, Peru, Malaysia, the Philippines, and India.
Global Finance grades the central bankers of nearly 75 countries on an "A" to "F" scale for their ability to control inflation, meet economic growth goals, stabilize currency rates and manage interest rates.
