Taiwan is likely to become one of 30 countries in Indonesia’s visa waiver program next year. That’s the word from Indonesian Tourism Minister Arief Yahya on Monday.
Arief said Taiwan has been a target of Indonesia’s tourism promotion and talks between the tourism officials in both countries have been smooth.
A total of 90,000 Taiwanese nationals visited the Southeast Asian country in the first half of this year. Arief said he hopes Taiwanese visitors will reach 200,000 this year.
So far, Indonesia has granted visa free status to 45 countries. Citizens of those countries may stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days.
