Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration said on Tuesday that Taiwan should sign environmental protection agreements with China.
“Over 30% of the polluted air in Taiwan comes from China,” said Chen Hsien-heng, Director-General of Department of Air Quality Protection and Noise Control.
He also said, “We will push for the signing of environmental protection agreements with China. It will be helpful for us to regulate air pollution from China.”
The department announced Tuesday that Taiwan’s air quality has been improving over the years. According to the department, the areas with the highest density of PM2.5 in Asia are India, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
