The culture ministry and Taiwan’s representative office in Kuala Lumpur have come together to bring a week-long festival of Taiwanese culture to Malaysia.
The cultural festival, which opened on Tuesday, will give Malaysians a chance to experience Taiwanese music, photography, and theater. Events will include an exhibition by Taiwanese photographer Huang Shih-shang. There will also be dramatic performances by the GuoGuang Opera Company and performances of traditional music by the XinXin Nanguan Ensemble.
Previous Taiwan culture weeks in Japan, Hong Kong and Macau proved successful, and Taiwan’s government hopes to replicate that success this week in Malaysia.
