The economics ministry announced Friday that the eleventh round of talks on the cross-strait trade in goods agreement is scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday in Beijing.

This round of talks is expected to focus on market liberalization and lowering of tariffs.

According to the economics ministry, head of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Yang Jen-ni and Industrial Development Bureau head Wu Ming-ji will represent Taiwan in the talks. The Chinese side will be led by Sun Tong, head of the Chinese commerce ministry’s Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs.

During the talks, Yang and Wu will not be in contact with the media, and the results of the talks will only be announced once they have returned to Taiwan on October 1.
