The military says it has set up a committee to investigate the cause of a plane crash that killed two air force pilots. That’s the word from ROC Air Force Academy Vice Principal Huang Chih-wei on Sunday.
The two pilots, Wang Ching-chun and Huang Chun-jung, were found dead in the cabin of an AT-3 trainer. The plane was discovered in a mountainous area of the eastern county of Hualien on Saturday after days of searching. Air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft on September 22nd while they were out on a training mission.
When asked whether the cause of the accident was the plane colliding into a mountain, Huang said an investigation into the accident will start soon.
A transport helicopter was used to take the bodies of the two pilots back to the academy at around 11:00 am on Sunday.
