Legislature President Wang Jin-pyng has called on the people of Taiwan to come together for the Republic of China’s 104th National Day celebrations.
The Republic of China is Taiwan’s official name. The Republic of China’s National Day falls on October 10th and marks the beginning of the Xinhai Revolution of 1911 which led to the Republic’s establishment.
Speaking at the Legislature on Friday, Wang said that the world is in the midst of political and economic turbulence. He said that Taiwan has also had its share of difficult times over the past year.
Wang said that this year’s National Day is particularly worth celebrating as this year marks the 70th anniversary of Taiwan’s retrocession to the Republic of China. Wang called on Taiwanese people to put aside political differences and join together in celebrating the occasion.
