People First Party (PFP) Chairman James Soong says that Taiwan must develop a pragamatic way of handling ties with China in the face of international marginalization.
The PFP presidential candidate Saturday called on the ruling Kuomintang (KMT) and the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to refrain from empty rhetoric.
Soong also called for maintaining the status quo of the Republic of China.
Several opinion polls show that Soong is lagging far behind the DPP’s Tsai Ing-wen and the KMT’s Hung Hsiu-chu.
