Taiwan is ranked 13th in the world in terms of military strength. That’s according to a globalization report released recently by Credit Suisse, a financial-services firm.
The report says that the Unites States remains the undisputed world leader in military strength, and the US remained on top of the list of 20 military powers. Russia came second and China was ranked third.
Other countries on the list include Japan, India, France, South Korea, Italy, the Great Britain and Turkey.
The six major indices used to measure military strength in the report are active personnel, tanks, aircraft, attack helicopters, aircraft carriers and submarines.
The report revealed the military superiority of the United States in conventional war capabilities as compared to its major rivals.
The report said that in an era of nuclear weapons, conventional forces are not the only indicator of military strength. The report said that Russia and the United States account for more than 90% of the global inventory of nuclear weapons.
