Taiwan's tourism ads target cyclists, transit travelers
Come to Taiwan

Taiwan’s tourism bureau announced on Tuesday it has produced three promotional videos to promote Taiwan as a destination.

The bureau’s Deputy Director-General Wayne Liu said that the purpose for the videos is to attract more transit passengers and bike lovers to Taiwan.

“More than 2 million travelers transit at the Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan each year. We want to use the video to attract more transit passengers to enter Taiwan and experience authentic Taiwanese culture," said Liu. "The other aim is to promote traveling around the island by bicycle. We are scheduled to complete the freeway no. 1 for bikers by the end of the year. We hope to attract cycling lovers to come to Taiwan for a biking tour.”

In addition, the cruise industry has grown by 6% globally and by more than 8% in the Asia Pacific region. Taiwan is working with Hong Kong, the Philippines and Hainan to create an association to promote cruises to Taiwan.

The three videos have been placed on the tourism bureau’s YouTube channel and will be broadcast on CNN, Sky News and Bloomberg.
