Vice President of Honduras Ricardo Antonio Alvarez Arias is in Taiwan to attend the Republic of China’s October 10 National Day celebrations. The Republic of China is Taiwan’s official name.
Alvarez arrived in Taiwan on Wednesday and is set to depart on Sunday. It is his first visit to Taiwan. During his stay, he will also meet with Vice President Wu Den-yih and Foreign Minister David Lin.
The foreign ministry says that the Republic of China and Honduras have enjoyed 74 years of diplomatic relations. The two countries continue to cooperate closely in the areas of trade, humanitarian aid, infrastructure, academia, and public health.
