The foreign ministry has announced that five countries in Central Asia and Africa are adding Taiwan to their visa-on-arrival and electronic visa programs.
In a statement on Wednesday, the foreign ministry said that Taiwan passport holders will be eligible to apply for visas upon arrival in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Liberia and Djibouti. Meanwhile, according to the foreign ministry statement, the African country of Gabon is also set to begin accepting electronic visa applications from Taiwanese passport holders.
With the addition of these five countries, the number of states and territories offering visa-free entry or visas on arrival to Taiwanese passport holders has reached 153.
