Shares in Taiwan closed lower Thursday after stiff technical resistance ahead of the 8,500-point level eroded earlier gains at a time when investors were cautious about the upcoming earnings season at home and on Wall Street.
Taiwan shares closed down 49.27 points, or 0.57 percent, at 8,445.96.
