Three new high speed rail stations to open Dec. 1
Yunlin station

Three new high speed rail stations are slated to open for business on Dec. 1. Those three stations are located along the pre-existing north-south line, in Miaoli, Changhua and Yunlin.

The Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation says that tickets to and from those stations will be available starting on November 4.

The company also said that workers will provide visitors to the new stations with guided tours of their features and functions.

A new train schedule will be announced in late October, featuring bullet trains stopping at the new stations every hour.

In the future, journeys from Taipei in the north to Zuoying in the south which stop at all 11 stations on the route, will take 138 minutes. That’s an increase of 18 minutes over the current 2-hour trip.

The travel time will be shorter on trains that stop only at selected stations.
