The 13th Annual Junior Scholars Conference on Sinology opened Friday. This year’s conference will be held from Friday through Sunday at the National Library of Taiwan.
With nearly 40 scholars and artists from around the world attending, the scope of the conference will extend beyond Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Discussion will include ethnic Chinese communities in Singapore, Malaysia, and even Western countries as well.
According to the organizer, Sinology is a popular subject of study in international academia. In order to reflect the diversity of the discipline, theater is being used as subject matter in this year’s conference.
