Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen says the DPP is confident in its prospects of winning next year’s presidential elections.
Tsai was speaking Saturday at a campaign rally. She is running for president as the DPP candidate.
When asked whether the possibility of KMT Chairman Eric Chu entering the race will affect the outcome of the election, Tsai said that the DPP will “act prudently and fight the battle cautiously.” Tsai also said the DPP is well-prepared for all uncertainties.
Tsai has yet to announce her running mate, though she said she will take the views of the electorate into consideration when making a decision.
