Taiwan's unemployment in September fell to 3.89 percent, the lowest level for that month in 15 years. That’s according to government statistics released on Thursday.
The average jobless rate for the first nine months of this year was 3.74 percent; that’s also the lowest since 2000.
In September, the jobless rate fell 0.01 percentage points from a month earlier. Analysts say that there is usually an increase in unemployment when moving from August into September. That’s because people with summer jobs or temporary work are no longer employed. However, this year analysts say that factor had the smallest impact on the jobless rate in seven years.
