The Taiwan Series will wrap up on Sunday night at the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium. The Lamigo Monkeys are set to face off against the Brothers Baseball Club in game seven.
Game six on Saturday night looked like it could deliver the Brothers a series win, but the Lamigo Monkeys managed to fight back, winning 5-4 and forcing a deciding game seven.
Lamigo pitcher Jared Lansford from the US managed to hold off the Brothers, giving up only two hits and earning four strikeouts in five innings.
Twenty thousand tickets for the final match are completely sold out, making the series the most popular – and profitable – in the history of the Taiwanese baseball league, which is called the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL).
Added to the previous six games, which sold more than 100,000 tickets, it has broken viewership records and raked in profits of over NT$100 million (more than US$3 million).
