Shares in Taiwan closed lower Wednesday as market sentiment remained cautious. That dragged down turnover ahead of the conclusion of a two-day policymaking meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve later in the day.
Taiwan shares closed down 44.37 points, or 0.51 percent, at 8,609.23.
