President Ma was bestowed a Leadership and Peace Contribution Award on Wednesday at the 13th Global Views business forum in Taipei. The forum awarded Ma for his efforts in promoting cross-strait peace and strengthening ties with China.
Ma said he has worked hard to promote peace across Taiwan, the East and South China seas. He has always maintained his support of the 92 Consensus, and the “no unification, no independence, no use of force” policy. He hopes to collaborate on the exploration of energy in these seas.
President Ma spoke about further promoting cross-strait cooperation. “The purpose of us commemorating war is not to advocate it, but rather, to denounce invasion and to promote peace. We hope to extend our peaceful collaboration (with China) in the Taiwan Strait, East China Sea, and South China Sea. We consider that our top priority," said Ma.
Several business and education officials attended the 13th Global Views Business Forum. They exchanged ideas on topics of innovation, cross-industry collaboration and education.
