Northern and eastern Taiwan can expect cool, wet weather with the arrival of a northeasterly weather system on Monday. The Central Weather Bureau says that temperatures could drop by 2-3 degrees in northern and eastern Taiwan, before warming again on Tuesday.
Meteorologists say that the rain is likely to continue through most of the week, before clearing on Friday.
The weather bureau is forecasting that the temperatures for northern Taiwan, including Taipei, could slip into the upper teens, Celsius (mid-sixties Fahrenheit). But southern Taiwan is unlikely to be affected, and will see highs near 30 Celsius (about 86 F). Meteorologists warned, though, of big differences in daytime and nighttime temperatures, with lows closer to 21 or 22 C (around 70 F).
