President Ma Ying-jeou received the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir and praised their visit for promoting cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Austria. The choir will tour Taiwan, performing in Chiayi, Tainan, Hsinchu, Taichung and Taipei.
Ma thanked the group for their special performance for First Lady Chow Mei-ching when she was in Vienna last year. Chow was there in her capacity as the honorary leader of Taiwan’s Ju Percussion Group. Ma also commended the choir for performing with Taiwan’s Vox Nativa Choir when the group of aboriginal children visited Austria in September.
Ma said he will continue to promote cultural exchanges and use culture to let more people know about Taiwan’s charm and vitality.
