President Ma Ying-jeou is set to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Singapore Saturday. That’s according to Presidential Office Spokesman Charles Chen on Tuesday night.
Chen said that the meeting between the two leaders is aimed at ensuring cross-strait peace and maintaining the status quo in cross-strait relations. Chen also said the two leaders will not sign any agreement or issue any joint statement.
President Ma is set to hold an international press conference Thursday to discuss the trip and will give a report to the legislature when he returns.
