President Ma Ying-jeou has called for Taiwan and France to reach a working holiday agreement.
Ma was speaking during a meeting with France’s representative in Taiwan, Benoît Guidée, on Wednesday. Ma said that France and Taiwan enjoy close trade ties and cooperation in the field of technology. But he said that France is not yet on the growing list of EU member countries that have reached working holiday agreements with Taiwan. Ma said that he hopes the two sides will conclude such an agreement soon.
Meanwhile, Ma asked for France’s support as Taiwan seeks to conclude a Bilateral Investment Agreement and an Economic Cooperation Agreement with the EU.
