Shares in Taiwan closed slightly lower Thursday, after rallying the previous day on hopes of warming ties between Taiwan and China as their leaders announced a meeting scheduled for November 7.
Taiwan shares closed down 6.84 points, or 0.08 percent, at 8,850.18.
