A total of 60 sets of relics from the Vatican will be showcased at the National Palace Museum in Taipei next year. Museum director Fung Ming-chu confirmed the partnership and signed a contract with the Vatican on Friday.
The exhibition, entitled "Heavenly Treasures," will take place from February 5 through May 2.
According to the museum, the highlight of the exhibition will be the Mandylion of Edessa, which is also known as the Holy Towel of Jesus, among other religious items.
It is the first time the museum will exhibit relics from the Vatican’s Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff. The exhibition will be divided into five sections, including one dedicated to the Pope and the church’s history.
